Chamonix-Mont-Blanc sits on the metre-gauge Mont Blanc Express, which continues across the border to Martigny in Switzerland. Geneva Airport connects either by a direct Altibus coach or by Leman Express train to Saint-Gervais-Le Fayet with a same-valley change. The town centre, the Aiguille du Midi cable car and the Montenvers rack railway are all a short walk from the station, with Argentiere one stop further on the same train.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a bus to reach central Chamonix?

No, the town centre is about a five-minute walk from the station.

How do I reach Argentiere?

On the same Mont Blanc Express train, one stop further, not a separate bus.

Is there a direct train from Geneva Airport?

Not direct. Take the Leman Express to Saint-Gervais-Le Fayet, then the Mont Blanc Express, or the direct Altibus coach.
